The AGM
Wednesday 30 June Parkend Club.
This annual meeting was held in the great hall of Parkend Club.
Baron's and Knight's with their attending serfs mixed in the throng of commoners. Also spotted amongst the great and good were the elderly Lords who positioned themselves at the head of the mighty oak table.
There was great feasting with riotous merriment and much ale was consumed.
Then the great lord stood up and did smite the table with a mighty blow to bring order to those assembled and called forth the first speaker.
And so it was that the great AGM in the 2010 year of our lord did pass into the lore and legend of the land.
Two noble knights were sworn in to the exalted company of the ruling elite.
Firstly Paul Loveridge knight of Cinderford and surrounding pasture lands.
Secondly Graham Waite knight of Oldcroft and envoy from Sweden.
Pewter was raised to the lips as a toast to both for the success of their mission.
It is with some sadness that it must be reported that our comely charioteer Karen Watts stood down and once more joined the ranks of the common folk.
Likewise, our scribe for many years and keeper of the scrolls, the lady of the quill, Helen Climpson, did hand in the official ink well and blotting paper.
To both these gallant ladies we offer our sincere thanks for the duties they performed.
Argyll Stages
Will Rogers in Scotland.
Last weekend I took to the road heading for Oban which is on the west coast near Fort William.
After a 9hour drive and some 500miles I arrived ready to partner young Ruary MacLeod in his yellow honda civic on the Argyll stages.
Heavy rain leading up to the event prompted us to cut a few extra grooves in the hankook tyres although they weren't needed as the stages were dry.
Stage 1 is probably the roughest stage I have ever done. Every rock felt like it could slice a hole in the floor.
The remaining stages were good. Setting a joint fastest time on stage 6 in our class was a real confidence booster.
We came home 3rd honda which gave Ruary good championship points. 5th in class and 26th overall. All in all a good weekend.
Next event for me will be Speyside based in Elgin. So an even further drive next.
